Every option shows its price and how soon it can reach you before you confirm. For a ride now, you see the options with drivers online near you; when you reserve, you can pick any of them.

How booking looks

Reserve
Book ahead for the airport, meetings and early starts
Reserve from 30 minutes up to 30 days ahead. You pay when you reserve, so there's nothing to sort out on the day.
- Tap “Later”The yellow button next to “Where to?” on the home screen. Enter where you're going.
- Pick the date and timeAny time from 30 minutes to 30 days from now.
- Choose a ride and payPay by M-Pesa or card when you reserve. Reserved rides can't be paid in cash.
- Confirm when we askYour ride waits under Trips → Upcoming. Shortly before pickup the app asks you to confirm — then Ollo finds your driver.
Changed your plans? Cancel before a driver is assigned and you get the full amount back — Ollo keeps no fee on reserved rides. If no driver is found, you're refunded in full too.

Plans change. Your ride can too.
Add stops before you book
Tap “+” to add up to 2 stops on the way and drag them into the order you want. The price covers the whole route — up to 40 km per trip.
Change the destination mid-trip
Pick a new drop-off, or change any stop still ahead of you. It applies straight away and the price is worked out again for the new route.
Add a stop mid-trip
A new stop is sent to your driver to accept. Once they do, it's added to the route and the price updates.
Fares
How your price is worked out
The price you see before you book is for your exact route and already includes any busy-time extra. Rates are set for each ride option and shown in the app.
- Base fare + distanceEvery tripA starting amount for the ride option you pick, plus a rate for every kilometre of the route through all your stops.
- Minimum fareVery short tripsA short trip pays at least the minimum fare for that ride option.
- Busy timesShown before you bookPeak hours, late nights, high demand around your pickup or heavy rain can add an extra. Only the biggest one applies — they are never added together.
- Waiting at pickupAdded at the endOnce your driver arrives, the first few minutes are free. After that a per-minute charge applies until the trip starts.
- Waiting at stopsAdded at the endA few free minutes at each stop, then a per-minute charge.
- Traffic delayAdded at the endIf the trip takes much longer than expected for the route, a per-minute charge applies after a free buffer.
- Route changesWhen you change the tripAdding a stop or changing the destination prices the trip again for the new route.
- PromotionsWhen one appliesThe app shows the normal price struck through next to your discounted price. Discounts are paid for by Ollo, never by your driver.

Lines you'll only see when they apply
- Higher demand / Night charge
- A busy-time extra, with its %. Already in the price you saw before booking.
- Waiting at pickup
- Per-minute charge after the free minutes once your driver arrived.
- Waiting at stops
- The same, for time spent at your stops.
- Traffic delay
- Per-minute charge when the trip ran much longer than expected.
- Coupon / Discount
- Money off from a promo code or offer, paid for by Ollo.

Paying
Pay the way Nairobi pays
Cash
Pay the driver directly at the end of the trip.
M-Pesa
Pay Ollo with an M-Pesa prompt on your phone — enter your PIN and you're done.
Card
Debit or credit card, paid in the app through our payment partner.
Apple Pay
In the iPhone app.
Choose how to pay when you confirm, and change it any time before the trip ends. Reserved rides are paid when you reserve them. Paying with a card issued outside Kenya? It is added as an International card: the fare is held when you book and only taken when the trip ends.
Cancelling a ride
You can cancel from the ride screen. Ollo doesn't currently charge a fee for cancelling a ride. Reserved rides are refunded in full when you cancel before a driver is assigned.
Receipts
After every trip the app shows a receipt with the fare and every charge on its own line, and you can download it as a PDF invoice. Something looks wrong? Open Support → Create New Ticket, pick the ride and tell us — within 7 days for payment issues.
